Gilman School Case Study

The prestigious Gilman School needed temporary space during renovation of its main building without sacrificing quality, budget, or detracting from the award winning architecture of their 68-acre Baltimore, Maryland campus.

The project needed to accommodate 385 students and support staff. The modular solution consisted of 35,000 square feet of temporary space for use as:

  • 24 Classrooms
  • 1 Library
  • 4 Conference rooms
  • Administrative offices
  • Food services facilities
  • Health station
  • Locker spaces

In order to complete the project, 48 air-conditioned modules previously utilized by the U.S. Naval Academy in nearby Annapolis, Maryland were brought to Gilman’s campus. USMGE facilitated the reuse of these existing buildings which minimized costs, reduced timelines, and decreased environmental impact.

Additional benefits to Gilman School were achieved by USMGE’s detailed and meticulous permit work with Baltimore City government officials.
