USMGE was awarded a contract to construct an on base commissary for the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM).
The commissary was to be the NEXCOM equivalent of a 2,640 square foot modular mini-mart. The commissary’s main purpose was to expedite the supply and distribution of domestic items for Naval personnel prior to deployment here and overseas.
NEXCOM required that this modular facility be operational within 90 days. USMGE rearranged previously scheduled projects in order to provide American service personnel with the resources they need in the time frame required.
The building specifications, and final construction consisted of the following: vinyl siding, rubber membrane roof, storefront doors, clear span ceiling, and increased floor load design. This building featured fully automated, sliding double doors and a ramp system designed to quickly restock inventory.
“I just wanted to let you know that your efforts for the modular relocation at Wayside Elementary School did not go unnoticed. I truly appreciate how your crews were able to complete the project as promised and did so exhibiting a high degree of workmanship. Thanks again, and I look forward to working with you again on many future projects.”
